Ryota Nakamura awarded the Outstanding Researcher/Research Institution Accolade by the River Foundation, MILT

Ryota Nakamura, Part-time Researcher at the Research Center for Climate Change Adaptation Strategy (CASTr), DPRI, Kyoto University received the 2025 Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award for Outstanding Researcher/Research Institutions from the River Foundation. The award was given for research conducted at CASTr during his doctoral program (supervised by Professor Tetsuya Sumi and Associate Professor Sohei Kobayashi).

What is the River Fund’s Outstanding Research Achievement?

 

The River Foundation, established in 1988 by the approval of the Cabinet Office to urgently promote river improvement in cooperation with the private sector. The River Foundation uses its investment profits to support various river-related activities such as surveys and research, activities to deepen public understanding of rivers conducted by river development organizations which include citizen groups, and river education through grants to schools to study the environment, disaster prevention, history and culture through rivers and river basins.
