Latest results of the emergency academic research cruise vessel “Hakuho Maru” following the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake
- Disaster Reports
The published research reports are from 26 ocean bottom seismometers (*1, Figure 1 and Photo 2) installed and recovered during two emergency research cruises carried out by the academic research vessel “Hakuho Maru” (Photo 1) which was launched from January to February 2024.
The data was used to analyze approximately 600 earthquakes (aftershocks) that were simultaneously observed by land-based observation networks (earthquakes with a magnitude of 2 or higher were extracted from the centralized earthquake source catalogue of the Japan Meteorological Agency).
