Congratulations to Prof. Tetsuya Sumi who is elected as Vice President Asia at the International Conference on Large Dams

At the 92nd General Assembly of the International Conference on Large Dams (ICOLD) held in Gothenburg, Sweden on 15 June 2023, Prof. Tetsuya Sumi was elected as Vice President for Asia.

ICOLD is an international organization in which dam experts and representative organizations related to dams discuss a wide range of issues such as dam construction technology, safety management, climate change adaptation measures, and harmony with the natural environment. The conference is considered as one of the mega-conferences in the area of large dams in each country.  Currently, there are 106 member countries.

The term of office for Prof. Prof. Sumi’s appointment is three years starting from 2023 to 2026.
