Audience with the Prime Minister of Kyrgyz Republic

Faculty members and students of the Regional Water Environmental Systems, Water Resources Research Centrer, DPRI, Kyoto University met with the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr Taalaibek Ibraev, Minister of Energy and Industry, and Mr. Erkin Atabekov Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Japan at the Central Asia Investment Forum (CAIF) 2022 organised by the EBRD and the Government of Japan, in cooperation with Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and organising partners on 1 December 2022.

Prof. Kenji Tanaka introduced the contents of the long-term observations that he has been carrying out since 2017 on three glaciers, and the contents of the summer school for students that will be held from 2021. Prime Minister Japarov highly appreciated the research and educational activities of his laboratory, and expressed his expectations for future collaboration with Kyoto University.
