DPRI Faculty meet with Officials of the Mexican Federal Government

Assoc. Prof. Yoshihiro Ito, and Assistant Prof. Mokoto Naoi of the Research Center for Earthquake Prediction, DPRI, Kyoto University met with Mr. David Leon Romero, National Coordinator, Mexico Federal Government on 5 June 2019.

 

During the meeting, they provided details of the Exploiting the science of slow earthquakes to mitigate disasters from mega thrust earthquakes and tsunamis under the SATREPS project on Hazard Assessment of Large Earthquakes and Tsunamis in the Mexican Pacific Coast for Disaster Mitigation and presented a simulation of the tsunami inundation of Guerrero State and other educational activities conducted under the project which was appreciated by Minister David Leon Romero.  The meeting was also featured in the Mexico Federal Government Twitter.
