Visit by the Universitas Islam Indonesia

A group consisting of 18 lecturers/professors/department head, 8 students and a staff member from the Islamic University of Indonesia visited the Disaster Prevention Research Institute (DPRI) on 8 February 2018.  The group was met by Prof. Norio Maki, Vice‑Director, DPRI who presented an introduction of DPRI and interacted through a Q&A session for an hour. In addition, DPRI informational package including the pen were given to all members.

 

After the session, the group toured the Geotechnical Centrifuge Laboratory. Clad in with helmets, they visited the basement to take a closer look at the centrifuge machine. Next they visited the Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel Lab where they had the chance to experiment the wind speed of 15 m/s. The tour concluded with a visit to the Bosai Museum without which the it could not have been completed.

 

Finally the Head of the Department presented DPRI with a souvenir of the Universitas Islam Indonesia.
