Research Collaboration with Disaster Prevention Research Institute

The Disaster Prevention Research Institute (DPRI) was established at Kyoto University for the purpose of carrying out academic research on natural hazards and multidisciplinary studies for disaster mitigation. Since 1996, many collaborative projects have been carried under DPRI’s leadership as a national joint usage research institute.
In 2009, DPRI was designated as a “Joint Usage/Collaborative Research Center for Multidisciplinary Disaster Prevention Study” by the Ministry of Education (MEXT). In order to perform functions as a collaborative research center, a new framework has been established. Research staffs from National University Corporations, public/private universities, national/public research institutes, and independent administrative institutions are encouraged to apply for funding.
DPRI invites proposals for collaborative research projects.
