・・・This research section promotes studies of morphodynamics of sediment routing systems that connect river basins, estuaries and coastal oceans. The particular emphasis is placed on clarifying and describing complex fluid-sediment interactions that can lead to serious consequences in low-lying waterfront areas. The ongoing research projects include the following:
1. Identification of flood-related sedimentary features for floodplain management;
2. High-resolution morphodynamics for assessing coastal sedimentary evolution;
3. Subaqueous sediment gravity flows and event deposits;
4. Integrity of barriers against events such as storm surges, severe waves and tsunamis; and
5. Coastal groundwater environments.
